Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions that we get. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How long In advance do I need to book 4Play Ensemble?

Usually we recommend booking at least 6 months in advance. However, if your event date is closer than that don’t hesitate to inquire.

What is the booking process?

First, please contact us and let us know your event details. After we receive your contact, we’ll respond (usually within 48 hours) and let you know if we’re available for your date, a quote, and a request additional details. Once the details are confirmed, we’ll send over a contract. The contract needs to be sent back along with a 20% deposit within 7 days.

I don’t know much about classical music, what do you usually play?

We will be happy to share a set list with you for you to listen to in advance. We have performed a wide variety of music and we’ll be happy to help you craft the perfect music set list for your event.

Can you guys play XYZ?

We can play nearly anything with enough preparation time! We have hundreds of pieces of music in our library, and we can if we don’t have it, just let us know what you want to hear, and we’ll give you a quote for the arrangement fee.

What time will you arrive at our event?

We’ll be there 30 minutes before the contracted start time. During this time we will tune and take care of any final set up that needs to happen.

What do you need in terms of set up?

We don’t need much! Our only real need is a single armless chair for our cellist. The other members can perform either sitting or standing. We bring our own music stands. We do ask that you consider placing the quartet in a part of the room where there is enough lighting for us to read our music.
